This logo was designed for a video production company specializing in web-based videos for small businesses. Like me, they help small businesses enhance their professional image.

There were a few constraints on this design. The client wanted the symbol to be a “Play” button, have silvery lettering in a specific font, and a blue that “pops.” Finding a consistent and affordable color that worked in both RGB and CMYK spaces was tricky. The “pop” that people so often refer to is typically an optical illusion. The reason neon colors like construction orange appear to “pop” is because the reflected wavelength of light from these colors actually hits the retinal plane on a closer spot. A Pantone color was not an affordable solution for the client. The “pop” blue he referenced was an RGB blue, out of gamut in CMYK. We ended up settling on a simple 100% cyan because it was the brightest “blue” he liked from the CMYK color space.
